Skillet stands for faith, family and freedom and these values have stayed consistent over the years. The band emphasizes the importance of these values because they believe that these values provide a sense of purpose and motivation to keep going despite challenges. While these songs have hints to faith, audiences can interpret the lyrics in ways that help them feel hopeful and keep pressing forward despite the struggles.

Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), certified this album Gold on November 3, 2009, and has since been Platinum.

“Revolution” was released November 1, 2024, and is the twelfth studio album. This is the first Skillet album to be released independently. According to Wikipedia, “Skillet frontman John Cooper explained,

‘the revolution we’re talking about on this record is not a political revolution, [and] it is certainly not a militaristic one, which I’ve never supported. It’s a revolution for love. It’s a revolution to love your enemies.’

On the album cover, the band flag Cooper holds has ‘1 COR 13:13’ printed in the lower-right corner, referring to the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians. The verse reads, ‘But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.’ "

I wrote 'Awake & Alive To Truth' because we live in a culture that is more concerned with tone rather than honesty, emotion rather than critical thinking, and empathy rather than truth.

I believe truth is revealed by God and God alone. The identity you belong to — the color of your skin, your gender, or your economic status — cannot be prerequisite for understanding the truth.
